Christmas Card for Words&Paintery

Hello my friends!

Sorry for being offline for a couple of months - we had a hard moving to our new house. But we survived and I am back!! :) I don't have access to all my supplies yet - a lot of stuff still in the boxes... But it won't stop me from sharing with you my first Christmas card for this year.

I created this card for Words&Paintery November challenge "Let Christmas come early this year"

I love these traditional holidays colors:

Unfortunately on the photo you can't see how shinny and sparkling this background! To create it I used a stencil, modeling paste and a gold spray by Prima Marketing. And yes - I did it before and loved it that couldn't not to do it again. Take a look at my last year card with this background here.

Hope to see you soon!

Pink wood Canvas "LOVE" for Words&Paintery

Hi there!

Sorry for not being very active on my blog lately. I have big changes in my live - actually SHE is so tiny for now but all my time I spend with her :) Our family became bigger for one more girl - now we have here a castle of princesses :)

And today I came to show you my recent creation for April challenge at Words&Paintery.

A background wood I created from pieces of chipboard. At first I cut it on strips, gessoes them and then painted with acrylics. Oh, in the end I distressed all the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed inks. I glued the strips with the gaps to make the wood looks more textured.

The color pallet for April is so sweet and pink. Check it out - link is here.

Wish you a great day and a lot of inspiration!
Hugs, Anna

Upcycled Mandarin Box

Hello everyone!

Today I have a quick post just to show you how I upcycled a mandarin box.

I'm a kind of person who always has problems with throwing things away...
This time I decided to try to give a new life to this mandarin box – to turn it into a storage box for my craft supplies.

Here are the photos before and after:

If you are interested how I did it:
  • I wanted to give an antique look to this box. So, I painted it firstly in brown color.
  • When it dried, I did a second layer – in turquoise, and left it to dry for a night.
  • Then I distressed a top layer with a sand block and for more contrast I added with my brash a light touch of the same brown paint that I used underneath.
  • Of course, I strengthened a bottom of the box with a chipboard and an appropriate pattern paper.
  •  And a piece of furniture.
It was fun! And now I have an additional storage box that looks perfect on my bookshelf.

See you later,
